Geetanjali ‘Vat Savitri’ Handpainted Madhubani Blue & Beige Tussar silk saree💙
Vat Purnima is a Hindu celebration observed by married women in North India and in the Western Indian states of Maharashtra, Goa, Kumaon, Gujarat. On this Purnima (full moon) during the three days of the month of Jyeshtha in the Hindu calendar (which falls in May–June),a married woman marks her love for her husband by tying a ceremonial thread around a banyan tree. The celebration is based on the legend of Savitri and Satyavan as narrated in the epic Mahabharata.
We have depicted this ritual on the aanchal of this saree with women offering flowers, water and tying a sacred thread to the tree. The peacocks add to the beauty of the drape.
It comes with a handpainted blouse piece of its own
Dry clean only
Please note that we have restocked this saree and the actual design might differ a little from the design in the saree as each saree is handpainted by our artisan in Darbhanga, Bihar and no two sarees are exactly same even if it is painted by the same artisan. But, that is the beauty of our saree. Imagine wearing something unique and never seen before everytime you own a saree from us.
