A quintessential Shada Lal Paad saree which represents Maa Durga along with her family. According to a popular belief, Maa Durga visits her paternal around home around this time of the year and after staying there for a few days, she returns to Lord Shiva. The immersion ceremony represents her journey back home.

We have created this saree for celebrating a female goddess—and by extension, all the women around us. The festival marks the victory of goddess Durga in her battle against the shape-shifting asura, Mahishasura. Thus, the festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil.

The primary goddess revered during Durga Puja is Durga but celebrations also include other major deities of Hinduism such as Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity), Saraswati (the goddess of knowledge and music), Ganesha (the god of good beginnings), and Kartikeya (the god of war). In Bengali and Odia traditions, these deities are considered to be Durga's children, and Durga Puja is believed to commemorate Durga's visit to her natal home with her beloved children. The festival is preceded by Mahalaya, which is believed to mark the start of Durga's journey to her natal home. Primary celebrations begin on the sixth day (Shasthi), on which the goddess is welcomed with rituals. The festival ends on the tenth day (Vijaya Dashami) when devotees embark on a procession carrying the worshipped clay sculpture-idols to a river, or other water body, and immerse them, symbolic of her return to the divine cosmos and her marital home with Shiva in Kailash

We have represented Goddess Durga on the aanchal along with Goddess Laxmi and Saraswati along with Lord Ganesh and Karthikeya. Also we have painted the borders with Shankha, Kalash and Banana Tree . The border represents devotees performing aarti and playing shakha and with dhunuchi immersed in the celebration.

The significance of ninth day is to adore Goddess Siddhidatri. Sitting on a lotus, she is believed to possess and bestows all types of Siddhis. She is worshipped for going beyond the logical mind to explore more and has the ability to grant 26 wishes to devotees.

Welcome Maa Durga with Siddhidatri, with all the warmth to her home.
